The Essex County Environmental Center, a facility of the Essex County Park System, is an environmental education center with a mission to create awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the environment and its relationship to Essex County residents.  The Center is dedicated to uniting its twenty-two communities through integrated educational programs including hands-on activities.

There are no refunds given for missed classes.

Hours
ECEC will be operating on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule and will be CLOSED on MONDAYS from October 20, 2025, through March 9, 2026.

A Monday through Friday and most Saturdays 10am to 2pm schedule will resume on March 16, 2026.

Trails are open dawn to dusk.
