Branch Brook Park

Celebrate 50 years of the Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival by joining your family and classmates for the 2026 One-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, April 18, at Essex County Branch Brook Park. This fun, non-competitive event invites children ages 6 through 14 to run through the park’s historic cherry tree groves as they come into bloom.

Following the race, many participants and families are encouraged to stay and enjoy Family Day, featuring activities, crafts, and live performances in the Prudential Concert Grove, taking place directly after the run.

Participation is free. Schools may register by submitting one school entry form by March 15, 2026. A signed permission slip is required for each participant prior to race day. Children may also register individually on the day of the event. All runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt and an award upon completing the race.
