Make family holiday memories at the Newark Museum
Newark: Make family holiday memories at the Newark Museum, located at 49 Washington St, Newark. On December 4, 11, 18 and 28-31, enjoy tours of the Ballantine House, which is decorated for the holidays; as well as programs that celebrate cultural traditions from around the world, including musical performances, planetarium shows, MakerSPACE pop-up demos, and hands-on workshops inspired by the Museum’s art and science collections. All programs are free with Museum admission.
The holiday schedule is as follows:
Family Workshops Every Saturday and Sunday in December:
Family Gallery Workshop - Building Bridges
1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm
Children ages 5-12
Visit the Ballantine House and works of art that relate to cultural traditions from around the world, then share family traditions in an art making workshop.
Creative Play - Shape
1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm
Children ages 3-5
Have fun connecting simple shapes to great works of art such as Cadmium by Carmen Herrera.
Sunday Holiday musical performances:
The Antoinette Montague Experience with her guests, the Cecilia Coleman Big Band

HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir

HaZamir, the International Jewish High School Choir, celebrates the start of Hannukah with Jewish choral music from Israel and America.
Voices of Newark Choir and Provenance Music Group
December 18
3 pm
The Voices of Newark Choir will sing holiday favorites to celebrate unity and the spirit of the holidays. They will be accompanied by the Provenance Music Group.

Each day will focus on a different material found in the galleries, from paper, wood, plastic to clay.
